Pupils of the Johannes Gutenberg Secondary School travel as ambassadors of the city of Münster and on behalf of the Mayor and patron Markus Lewe.

Their return journey from the Holocaust Memorial in Auschwitz to the large Memorial in Berlin by bicycle. This is part of the “Peace Tour 2019” which occurs 80 years after the invasion of Poland on 01 September 1939 with the subsequent inhumane course of World War II. On their bikes, the students deliberately move slowly and in an eco-friendly way through this part of Europe in order to encounter the country and its people and to learn from the past.
