International Meeting 2016 for Teachers

For the fourth time, Maximilian-Kolbe-Werk organizes in Oswiecim, Poland an international encounter for teachers entitled “Auschwitz in the Classroom”.

The meeting will take place from February 22nd to 26th, 2016 and will be for vocational training.
20 teachers and trainee teachers from Germany and other European countries in this authentic place of history Auschwitz-Birkenau with its Nazi past, will meet with survivors of the concentration camps and ghettos. They will discuss the best way to plan school lessons today about National Socialism.

The project is conducted in cooperation with the Villa ten Hompel in Münster (a former historical “perpetrator location”), the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust of the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Center for Dialogue and Prayer in Oswiecim.
