In the context of the history lessons of the 9th grade, and based on the study of the existential threat of democratic systems in Europe by the National Socialists regime of violence, the pupils acquired theoretical knowledge will be expanded to include on-site experience. Facts and numbers will be given to faces which will contribute to a new sensitization of students about the systematic extermination of European Jews, as well as the fate of the individual. The young people gain insight into the inhumane nature of the National Socialist ideology and the awareness of the threat to democracy posed by extremist forces. This will give students a different approach than what is usual in history lessons – promoting empathy by learning the fate of prisoners on site.
