The Truth and only the Truth
A study trip to Auschwitz and Krakau for the seniors of the Hansa-Highschool in Cologne.

Since 1999 Norbert Grümme travels once every year to Auschwitz, not as an interested historian, but as a teacher, who wants to experience Auschwitz with Polish and German students in the context of a student exchange.

In 2012 the history teachers from the Hansa Gymnasium in Cologne, a German high school, decided to organize a one-week study trip to Auschwitz and Krakow. Once a year a group of 30 students between 15 and 17 years get the possibility to take part.

In 2017 during their eight days in Oswiecim and Krakow they will deal very closely with the camp complex of Auschwitz-Birkenau and discuss the different facets of “Auschwitz” in different ways. The guided tours through Auschwitz will be intensified by supplementary presentations from the students.

Full study program organized with visits to Museum Auschwitz, presentation and Workshop, Jewish Centre in Oswiecim. In Krakow the group will visit Oskar Schindler’s Factory, Old Town and Jewish quarter Kazimierz.
