Study journey for students of Political Education in10th Class
The Hannah-Arendt-Gymnasium is located in the centre of Krefeld which is a small town close to Duesseldorf/NRW in Germany. Right now around 800 students are in the high school.
All of 10th grade is visiting Auschwitz as part of the political education program in the school. Around 100 students take part in the trip and are accompanied by nine teachers. Their program includes the visit and guided tour of both parts of the former concentration camp, combined with some workshops. They are also going to spend two days in Kraków and will have a meeting with a survivor and see the Schindler-Museum. This is the first visit of the school to Auschwitz and they are curious as to what to expect and what impressions and experiences they will bring home.
