Exhibition on Individual and Collective Commemorations Left on the site of the Former Concentration Camp Auschwitz.

The Exhibition of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

The character of the Exhibition is presented in the description on the first board opening the exhibition:
“The unusual emotional load of the Memorial such as the site of the Auschwitz camp, always, has a strong influence on visitors’ emotions and imagination. It evokes, grief, empathy and reflections. Believers also pose a question, “Where was the God of Jews and Christians while Abraham’s children were exterminated and Jesus’ followers were suffering”

The presented items do not fit the definition of a historical monument or artifact, but they go beyond the boundary of interests defined by the tasks of the Museum. However, the emotional charge they contain represent the collective memory of the 20th century population and inscribes Auschwitz in its identity.
